If you watch movies you know that more and more over the years the western film has slowly and certainly became a thing of the past. Here James Mangold returns to the genre some even though this is a remake it’s well done, long and thoughtful and ends like many westerns tragic. It was good to have a rebirth of the genre by having star power here with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe and your typical life struggles and shootouts of the old west make the drama more compelling. Bale stars as Dan Evans a civil war wounded vet who’s behind on his ranch payments needing help and hope that comes in somewhat an unexpected form. As Crowe stars as Ben Wade a rugged outlaw who robs a stagecoach, is captured by small town enforcers, so then to earn money Evans promises the law and government he will help transport Wade to the Yuma court for trial and possible prison sentence. And like all good westerns this film is about journey, shootouts, growth, and most of all it touches your emotions and shows just how life can go sometimes and turn out and like many westerns the big showdown turns out to end unexpectedly. Really a good crowd pleasing movie that interest you.

Like other posters have said, King’s work rarely shows up on screen in the amazing way it does on paper, but this movie changed that. The casting was great and my friends and i felt genuinely scared watching the movie, something you don’t feel often with the movies that are out in theater today. Basically, the ending is different from the short story ending: the short story ends with him coming out of the room emotionally scarred, but the movie ends with him trapped in the room forever. The story ending works well for the story ending, but wouldn’t have done well for the movie ending, so even though I hate major changes in movies based on books, the change of ending was a change of the better.

Overall a good movie to see, worth the $10 or so you spend watching it. You will be on edge of your seat & its a movie well enjoyed.

when i read other comment,i decided to watch this movie…
First, cast specially Michael Madsen and Tamer Karadagli; good enough…
Film,very intelligence and interesting because ,cast have a lot of international specially European actor and actress like from Turkey and Russsia…
Second,Story is basic and you can guess but if you interesting action good play you’ll like in my opinion…
Third,Final chapter is not special or interesting,it’s regular like other action movies…
Finally,i recommend to watch this movie…And i hope You’ll love it enjoy

Enjoyed the movie immensely. Too short. It seems like there could have been more depth to the conflict between Tony Todd’s character and Kari Wuhrer’s. Wished the film had Walken and Viggo Mortensen but Tony Todd and John Light were great alternative choices. I’m not sure how Simon really fits into the story. Is he the same Simon from the original film? I was intrigued by the notion of Allison being a nephalim (and Simon her father?) but wanted to know more. I liked the dark and ambiguous ending. Most of all, the series left me wanting more. Which for me is a good thing. Especially at a time when everyone is trying to interpret the Bible to justify their own destructive ambitions (won’t mention any names here). Hope there are more Prophecy movies to come.

I didn’t want to see this film as the reviews in the UK were so poor. However I arrived too late for Michael Clayton and bought tickets with reservations. I’m glad it worked out that way as I saw two great performances from Foster and Howard. Those expecting a Death Wish remake might be disappointed. I was more reminded of Ghost, and that was the only bad aspect. As an exciting drama with plenty of jump in your seat moments, the film succeeds. Aside from the politics (and I’m on Jodie’s liberal side against the vigilantes any day) it’s disturbing yet also funny. I took the “dog back” line as Arnie type humour, in the same vein as the other quotes listed. So if you want a good film, don’t be put off by the reviews. Jodie’s as watchable as ever.

Warner Bros pulled out all the stops to make this excellent western action classic which I rate 9 out of 10. One of the best parts of the movie was the greatest saloon fight ever filmed… which was all about… Hmm! I forget! One thing to convey to young movie fans is that most people who saw this movie on theaters — it was re-issued more than once — saw it in black & white with no hint it was ever in Technicolor. When this film was released in 1939, I was 8 months old, so I missed it. But in the late 1940’s and throughout the 1950’s, many Technicolor pictures, particularly from 20th Centory-Fox and Warner Bros, were re-issued in black and white — all that rare and beautiful Technicolor work relegated to the ash can by Hollywood cheapskates. During the war years of 1941-45, Hollywood was tightly rationed on use of Technicolor, which was needed at the time by the war effort. But after the war, it’s amazing that Hollywood czars like Darryl F. Zanuck would denude their movies of their Technicolor — often using Technicolor previews as if to slap the faces of ticket buyers.

And the other one is the Tapedance impro of Gregory Hines. You must discover this film even if you don’t like the dance, for two reasons : first, as I said it before, this is not only about the dance. The second reason is it’s the unique occasion to discover Gregory Hines in is best performance

Before I saw this film I was very skeptical. I wasn’t sure if it could hold up to its all-star cast; I was wrong. This film is so funny it rivals the humor of films like: The Forty Year Old Virgin, Anchorman and Knocked-up. This is sure to be the star movie of the summer of 2007. Anyone who appreciates humor *MUST* see this film. Though many people have been saying the jokes run too long, I just saw it and nothing out wore its welcome (maybe they re-cut some of the scenes). There is something for everyone in this film! Just look at the cast for god’s sake. The writing is witty, the cast is better then I have ever seen them perform and the film will be quoted for the next five years.

Above that, the film is even better then the trailer (something we all agree is very hard to match, watch the trailer its great)

I watched this movie at the theater and OMG this is like totally amazing. The acting is beyond amazing. I just loves it it is so cute. Those girls are so tight. And to all you fat nerds who hate on us skinny models stop tripping OK cause we are gorgeous and y’all ain’t/ HMM!!! This movie was so cool and amazing and I recommend to everyone even old people! Yes EVEN OLD PEOPLE! Loves It!!! Now go out and see it. These girls spill their hearts out on screen and it is just so Godly. It is the perfect movie for all of you who want to see it after you go to the mall and shop for cute outfits.

P.S. To the guy who said charity and helping people is More important than fashion is obviously on something cause it ain’t.

After reading the reviews on here I wasn’t expecting much from this movie but I have to say that I definitely was surprised at how underrated this movie is.
this movie has no big name actors but the acting is definitely solid. Til Sweiger isn’t a huge actor but is a hell of a lot better than some bigger ones. The special effects, directing, and filming were all par with big movies. Overall its a very solid movie.
Almost dead has a great plot line and does well mixing action and thriller moments. There’s no good way to tell some of the twists without containing spoilers but its a definite must watch for people who like hostel and rambo.
